• Antique Oak can be used over under-floor heating without needing to be re-kilned.
• Boards should be secret nail fixed and can be face fixed using cut nails for a more rustic finish if preferred.
For further details of fixing methods and more general fitting information see " Wood Floor Want To Know More? ".
• After fitting, fill any open knots and cracks with a dark 2 part polyester or cellulose based filler, leaving as little excess on the surface of the board as possible. To test the colour of any filler, apply to a sample and then put a coat of the intended finish - filler also changes colour when selaed.
• Sand using an 80 grit and then a 120 grit sandpaper - ideally using an upright belt sander.
• For a traditional style finish which will develop patina over time, Antique Oak should be finished with Broadleaf Hardwax Oil.
